Jahic (2011). Catalogue Arabic, Turkish, Persiand and Bosnian Mss Sarajevo Historical Archive Vol. 2
The sixth juz of the Qur'an, from 4:128 to 5:82. Folio: 20; 20 x 14.5 (13 x 8); 9 lines. Nash, vocalised, written by a very skilful hand. Black ink, of low quality, which does not come off in contact with humidity. The titles of the surahs, the margins and the verse numbers are written in red ink. The paper is medium-thick, smooth, light-brown, watermarked, of European origin. Some leaves show signs of moisture and damage to the edges. Text later modified with annotations in pencil and graphite. Leather binding, original, with flaps, well preserved. On the outside of the cover there are beautiful rosettes in the form of ovals, composed of hexagonal elements and decorated with a Star of David in the centre. There is no information about the copyist, place or date of copying. Based on the paper, script, ink and binding, the copy is probably from the 18th century.
