Descriptive card

The Koran. 212 fols of thin paper, 15 lines to the page. The script is a neat naskh with gold margins. The first two and last two pages are fully illuminated in gold and various colours, the last two with flowers centre. The binding is Turkish, flapped dark-brown morocco, gilt and tooled. Copyist: al-Saiyid Muṣṭafā al-Ḥilmī, pupil of Uthmān Efendī 'Dāmād al-'Afīf'. Dated May 1832.
