The Spiegel historiael is a Middle Dutch adaptation (in verses) of Vincent de Beauvais's Speculum historiale. In the fourth book, he includes and adapts the section on Islam and some qur'anic verses (thus adapted into Dutch verse). This is one of the earliest traces of qur'anic material in an early state of Dutch.
